Went on Saturday night for my son's 18th Birthday. The service was friendly and very attentive. Food preparation was very entertaining and the food was delicious. The filet mignon was melt in your mouth good. The beer was Ice cold and the tea was hot. All in all considered it was a great dinner and show.

so fun! definitely gets busy so make sure to make a reservation if you want to avoid an hour long wait. i think compared to other teppanyakis, the flavor comes in probably 2nd or 3rd still really good but not the best in my opinion. like even if you just compare the fried rices that u can add to your combos at each restaurant, this one costs more and the protein and taste is about a 7/10. entertainment and skill on the other hand.... these chefs deserve all the applause and they do it with a smile. still a great restaurant and they've been here for so long, definitely go check them out.

Came to celebrating my grandmas birthday with two other relatives (total of 4). For birthdays (with ID provided), the bday person gets a free (7oz) NY hibachi. Overall, the food was ok, nothing special. I think I might even enjoy Benihana more... however I'm giving this place a 4 instead of 3 stars because of how special the staff made my grandma feel on her 87th birthday. She was beaming and laughing the entire time. At the end, they brought out a little bowl of ice cream with a candle and even took my emails photo together and gave it to us printed out. The experience was heart warming.

Food was good, they cooked it with a show. It was our cooks first week... so the show wasn't as good as the other tables, the waitresses were awesome and funny, nicely attentive. The inside looked similar to a traditional Japanese restaurant, with many rooms each filled with 4 cooktops, you sit around the table others facing the cook/cooktop. Overall a nice experience, we'll do this again sometime.

We went to Genji @ San Jose for dinner last night. It's located in an old building that has a retro vibe, like we were back in the 80s. The place was very busy and lively, with a lot of people celebrating their birthdays. We enjoyed hearing the happy songs and cheers throughout the night. The food was decent, but not outstanding. We ordered the beef and shrimp combo for $42 and the seafood combo for $54. The portions were generous and the ingredients were fresh, but the sauces were a bit bland and the presentation was not very appealing. We expected more from a Japanese restaurant. The service was friendly and attentive, though. Our waitress was very helpful and patient with our questions and requests. She brought us our food and drinks quickly and checked on us regularly. She also gave us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary, which was very sweet of her. Overall, we had a good time at Genji, but we were not blown away by the food. It's a nice place to go for a casual and fun night out, but not for a special occasion or a fine dining experience.
